Majestic launches digital loyalty scheme - digital loyalty
Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer.

Majestic, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, introduced its inaugural digital loyalty program within a freshly released mobile application. The app can presently be obtained from both the Apple App Store and Google Play. This initiative forms part of Majestic’s broader push toward a seamless and convenient digital experience.

Through the loyalty system shoppers can explore the range, make purchases and collect rewards, with earned points convertible into complimentary wine bottles at any Majestic outlet. Anyone who installs the app and logs in or registers a Majestic profile is granted 50 bonus points, matching a £50 spend.

For each £1 paid, users accumulate one point, applicable whether the purchase occurs in a physical shop, on the website, through the app, or via a Wine Club or Lock It In plan. Points may be cashed in solely inside the app once a balance of 100, 200, 400, 800 or 1,600 is reached, allowing redemption for complimentary items in store.

At every level, members can select from various rewards, such as bottles from Majestic’s well-known Guv’nor line for 200 points, up to high-end selections like E. Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Lanson “Le Black Creation” Brut Champagne at the 1,600-point tier. Each reward tier is designed to appeal to both casual drinkers and connoisseurs. Additionally, the application offers tools for creating wishlists and recording tasting notes and star ratings for wines, beers and spirits.

The updated Majestic application lets users view their digital loyalty card as a distinct barcode inside the app, which can be stored in the phone’s e-wallet. Shoppers may also present this barcode at checkout, streamlining the in-store payment process for anyone with a Majestic account.

The company has transferred its well-liked Shop Local feature to the mobile platform, enabling users to browse real-time inventory at their nearest Majestic shop and arrange next-day delivery or click-and-collect within four hours. Majestic intends to continue investing in app improvements ahead of the key Christmas sales window and in the years that follow.

Elizabeth Newman, managing director of Majestic Retail, said: “We have an incredibly loyal, knowledgeable and highly engaged customer base at Majestic, and we are always looking for new ways to recognise and reward that support. Our first-ever digital loyalty scheme and new smartphone app will make it quicker, easier and more rewarding than ever for customers to discover and buy new wines at Majestic.”

The new Majestic app is available to download now on Apple and Android devices.
